2. What personal data do we collect and process?
For the purposes of this Notice, personal data means all data that we collect in connection with the use of StarVegas.ch and through which you can be identified directly or indirectly, including, in particular, your name, address, date of birth, gender, telephone number, account details and transaction data.Based on your activities and the services selected on the website and in the applications, we process, in whole or in part, in particular the following data:
- Data provided by you when setting up your gaming account, including, in particular, your name, date of birth, nationality, gender, place of residence, email address, telephone number, password, security question and security answer, and a copy of your identity document;
- Activity data generated when you use StarVegas.ch, including, in particular, device data such as the IP address, source and destination data, player ID, gaming transactions, data relating to online payment methods (debit/credit cards, bank account, postal account), website login history, analytical information, and data made available to customer service (including emails, chats and calls);
- Device-related identification and fingerprint data processed as part of security and fraud prevention measures, namely device- and browser-specific identifiers (Device Hash, Browser Hash, Cookie Hash, True Device ID), information about the operating system and browser, screen resolution, Canvas and WebGL fingerprints, internet service provider, connection type, and indications of the use of VPN or proxy services;
- Data made available to us by authorities or authorised third-party companies (for example in connection with identity checks, transfers of funds or gambling exclusions) in order to comply with statutory obligations and exercise our rights;
- Data collected by means of cookies while you use StarVegas.ch that is not collected entirely anonymously, but is connected or linked to personal data. Further information about cookies and how to manage them can be found in our Cookie Policy.
3. For what purposes do we process your personal data?
We process your data in particular for the following purposes:- Operation and administration of StarVegas.ch, including setting up and maintaining your gaming account;
- Verification of the data provided by you when setting up your gaming account and for transfers of funds, and the detection and prevention of fraud, misuse and multiple registrations, including the automated analysis of technical device characteristics and the calculation of a risk score by specialised service providers (see section 7);
- Compliance with laws and regulatory obligations, including responding to requests from authorities;
- Performance of our contractual obligations towards players in accordance with statutory requirements and the General Terms and Conditions (GTC);
- Execution of transfers of funds with the assistance of third-party payment service providers and financial institutions;
- Protection of our rights, including the rights of our suppliers and other contractual partners;
- Provision of customer support;
- Improvement of the security, services and functions of StarVegas.ch. This may include research, surveys, requests for your voluntary feedback, internal training and services provided by partners;
- Sending marketing communications subject to your express consent. Such marketing communications may be based on your registration and gaming activity data.
4. How long do we retain your personal data?
The data collected in accordance with section 3 is stored electronically in accordance with statutory requirements. The longest statutory minimum retention period is ten years from the end of a business relationship (basis: Geldwäschereigesetz). As a rule, the statutory minimum retention period is ten years from receipt of a document or information (bases: Geldspielgesetz/Obligationenrecht). Shorter periods apply in exceptional cases. The law also provides for certain maximum retention periods, which StarVegas.ch likewise observes (e.g. five years for reports to the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland, MROS).As a rule, the data referred to in section 3 is stored electronically for as long as StarVegas.ch uses this data or until you request that we delete it.
Data that no longer needs to be retained or may no longer be retained is deleted or anonymised.
5. Security and data protection measures
We use the necessary human and technical resources to treat your personal data confidentially and protect it effectively, in particular against unauthorised access and accidental loss. To ensure a high standard of data protection, Casino Interlaken AG and its platform and game suppliers are certified in accordance with the international ISO 27001 standard (information security management). Credit card payments are processed in accordance with the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards).Casino Interlaken AG accepts no liability for loss or theft of data or other criminal acts by third parties involving the use of your electronic devices in connection with the use of StarVegas.ch.
6. Who can access your personal data?
Officially audited processes and quality management systems ensure that only specifically authorised persons (employees of Casino Interlaken AG, employees of suppliers such as platform providers and credit card companies, and authorities) can access your data, and that such access is always limited to their respective areas of responsibility and assigned duties.7. Is personal data disclosed to third parties?
We disclose your personal data to third parties only where this is legally permitted and necessary for the operation of StarVegas.ch. Authorised third parties are, on the one hand, authorities acting within the scope of their statutory duties and, on the other hand, partner companies involved on a contractual basis in providing the StarVegas.ch offering. Your data is not sold to third parties.For the purposes of fraud prevention and the detection of multiple registrations, we engage the specialised service provider SEON Technologies Kft. (Budapest, Hungary) as a processor. During registration, login and other security-related usage events, device fingerprint data and technical characteristics (see «What personal data do we collect and process?») are analysed automatically and reflected in a risk score. StarVegas.ch remains responsible for this data processing.
Please note that data that you share with certain major foreign processors (e.g. Google, Meta/Facebook, X/Twitter, Apple and Microsoft) is subject to specific provisions and risks.
Casino Interlaken AG mainly uses data centres in Switzerland, Austria and the EU to process personal data. If it is necessary to transfer personal data outside Switzerland, the EU or the EEA, for example to a data processor that, either itself or through one of its subcontractors, stores data in or has establishments in a country outside Switzerland, the EU or the EEA, the operator will take all necessary legal, technical and organisational measures to ensure that the level of data protection corresponds to that in Switzerland. When personal data is transferred to a country outside Switzerland, the level of data protection is safeguarded by the country list of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, which identifies countries with adequate data protection legislation.
8. What rights do you have in relation to your personal data?
Your legal options in connection with the processing of your personal data include, in particular:- obtaining confirmation as to the personal data held about you. This information is primarily provided within your account;
- requesting the correction of relevant data. This is done through customer service or your gaming account;
- withdrawing your consent to data processing or requesting the deletion of data. This does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent given before its withdrawal. This option is provided through specific tools, for example unsubscribe or opt-out functions. Such a withdrawal may result in the termination of the services provided to you by StarVegas.ch;
- lodging a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (www.edoeb.admin.ch).
Further options can be found in the relevant provisions of the Datenschutzgesetz and the Datenschutzverordnung (see section 1).
Unless otherwise stated, these services are provided after you submit a written request (email) to customer service. We endeavour to process requests promptly; however, the duration of the procedure depends on the type of data concerned, our statutory obligations and the rights of third parties. Our non-binding objective is to process requests within one month.
